About Keeda

Public Defender. Legal Advisor. Criminal Justice Reform Advocate. Fighter.

I was born and raised in Franklin Tennessee. I’ve lived in Nashville, TN since 2006, and today I work as a Legal Advisor at Free Hearts, a Non-Profit Organization led by formerly incarcerated women. I offer help and support to other formerly incarcerated women, and to children whose parents have been incarcerated or deported. Additionally, I educate our community of families on various legal issues and assist with Free Heart’s legislative agenda.

Before joining Free Hearts, I served my community for six and a half years as an Assistant Public Defender at the Metro Nashville Public Defender’s Office. As a public defender, I poured my determination, energy and passion in to fighting for my clients in the courtroom and also in the community.

The fight to end the inequalities of our racist criminal justice system is personal to me.
